Pope Paolo VI is one of the greatest personages who was born in the territory of Brescia. The Festival Pianistico Internazionale and the Filarmonica del Festival dedicate to his memory a concert in Ponte di Legno, wonderful mountain resort in Valle Camonica where the family of the Pope still owns a house and where Giovanni Battista Montini spent his holidays as a young man, priest and later as a cardinal. The concert, which marks the 39th anniversary of the Pope’s passing, will be held on 6 August, in the main church. The Filarmonica will be conducted by Pier Carlo Orizio and will perform Mendelssohn’s Sinphony n. 10, Elgar’s Serenata op. 20 and two works by Mozart, the Mottetto k 165 for Soprano and Orchestra (with Alessia Pintossi) and the Symphony k 201.
The concert is at its 18th edition. The entrance is free.
